my car used to shake around 70, i didnt bother getting the wheels balanced because ive bought some vts wheels, i put new tyres on these all round (so they will have all been balanced) ive now put these wheels on and still experince a fair shake on the wheels at 70, does any on have any ideas? cheers scott

I had a similar issue with my Saxo and my "Steelies" were apparently "balanced"

They were not, not by a long shot.

Getting them balanced is fairly cheap anyway, only need the front two done obviously.
If I were in your shoes, I'd make sure they were definitely balanced.

yea thats what im thinking, its just wierd how it shakes at exaxtly the same speed with different wheels on, see i wasnt there when they did them, chances are they didnt have a 4 stud balancer! as they are vts wheels

Had my front wheels balanced 5 times in 3 days and the steering wheel still shakes at 60mph. I would avoid Kwik Fit at all cost! They also let me drive away knowing my tracking was insanely off so I had to turn the steering wheel almost at a 45 degree angle to the right just to drive straight...the managers and workers know as much about cars as a bloody ape.

prob won't be the same problem as you, but from 40-60 mph, i had a bad shake, turned out something in the gearbox wanted out

hmmmm, there isnt any shake in the gear knob, and it doesnt increase or decrease when i accelerate or deccelrate around 70
