#8go custom, get a universal one for around £25-35 and just cut/chop/weld it on, nothing to it really.
-
#9iv been told stay away from universal ones
-
#10its going to be no better then just a backbox anyway mate, anyone who knows will tell ya.
-
#11When you refer to the words cut/chop/weld your basically saying bodge it and hope it dont fall offQuote:Originally Posted by Reefits going to be no better then just a backbox anyway mate, anyone who knows will tell ya.

#14I love my piper back box. It sounds gorgeous
My boyfriend bought mine for me from www.needforspeed.co.uk
Don't know if they do 1.1 as I haven't checked but it's worth a look -
#15Then again if its power your wanting, I dont think a backbox will do much at all for a 1.1 - im not slagging ur 1.1 tho (I had one myself as my first car)! So to be honest a universal one would probably be ok as well. I know that on my 206 the 1.1, 1.4 and 1.6 standard exhausts all fitted!
-
#16its because i cant be bothered with all the cutting and welding i just want a direct fit one
-
#17ROFLMFAO ........ what do you know then mate ? explain to me ..... go on ....Quote:Originally Posted by DAZ1985
this is funny because you are saying that a 'made for saxo' backbox is going to be 'better' then a universal one made to fit ?
please prove this to me, and before you jump to any conclusions, read my post carefully, when i reffered to cut/shop/weld..... i was just shorting the process, i didnt say take it to the guy DOWN the road who does fridge freezer repairs and has a blow torch welder.....
i hate smart comments like that, especially from people bragging about how much they know.
If you dont know shit, dont say SHIT.
FUCKING RANT OVER. -
#18in my experience, all backboxes fit all saxo's. Ive had a backbox on my old 1.0 off a vtr and visa versa. The only difference is the angle inwhich the tail sits because on lower models you dont have the bumper cut out. If you buy one for a 1.4 / vtr it will fit.
i have owned a 1.- / VTS / VTR and have had exhausts off all kinda of saxos and they are all the same mate. -
#19direct fit exhausts are louds better than shitty universal exhausts
buy a 1.4 exhaust and it should fit -
#20really ? prove this to me.Quote:Originally Posted by b0t13direct fit exhausts are louds better than shitty universal exhausts

#21will you calm down.Quote:Originally Posted by Reefreally ? prove this to me.
Give the guy the information he wants and leave it, if you disagree the state why.
Chillax homie

#22build quality is alot betterQuote:Originally Posted by Reefreally ? prove this to me.
it fits properlly
its designed for that car!
doesnt need chopping etc..
actually looks good! -
#23roflmfao.... ok TEN THUMBS UP DUDE, you INDEED know what your talking about.Quote:Originally Posted by b0t13build quality is alot better

yawnz.
*shakes heads* -
#24you cant aruge that universal backboxs are better than direct fit because they arnt for the reasons stated above. Universal exhausts have 0 advantages over a direct fit , they arnt even any cheaper these days.
Like i said buddy buy one for a 1.4 furio / vtr and it will fit a treat i garentee you. -
#25Ditto what DarylVTR said
Personal opinion with custom ???? NOT for me -
#26i think the base model's exhaust bore is smaller than the vtr/s but cant remember 100%. there are plenty around for the base models, try gaz at gsmotorsport i'm sure he can sort you out a deal.
as for universal..... universal exhausts will never be as good as a dedicated fit exhaust, purely because a dedicated exhaust is made speciafically for the car in question and also to suit the engine characteristics of said car. only one which is an obvious exception is the btb, even though it isn't strictly custom (but neither is it mass produced on the scale of magnex etc) as it's designed to suit the characteristics of the saxo. also if you turned up at btb and wanted an exhaust built specifically for the spec of your car (ie whether it was boosted, t/b'd, cammed, etc) then it'd cost over a grand and you'd have at least a 10day wait. bit better than powerflow i would imagine (i'd fucking hope so for that money).
all in all, universal is good if you cant find what you want or you want something cheap (get what you pay for), but with just a backbox you'd be hard pushed to notice a difference.
and breathe.
