I recently had to have a new alternator and battery due to an issue whereby my old alternator overcharged my battery and fried it. Nice!
Popped to check my oil just, engine had been off for hours and I could hear like an electrical sound coming from the alternator area, even though nothing was on in the car. Is this normal? Should it be making any noises when the car is off (only a slight sound admittedly)
Just don't want the same thing to happen again with my new battery and alternator. Could something be causing power to be running between the two with the car off?
