Back Box fell off

So my back box fell off the other day, got it repaired over night for £42. But the guy said it might only be 6 months before I need to buy a new cat. Does this mean he bodged it or is it a totally different issue?

different issue. £42 to fix the backbox and it might only last 6 months. a £3 tin of gungum probably would have been a better idea. i got a brand new standard backbox the same as yours from ebay last week for £27...

haha yeah was just about to say this. Mine "fell off" a little while back, the ring bit snapped off, so I just got it welded up for £5 and then stuck it back on with the gum!

wow, if people want the standard back box, you really need to get on trade.

tbf i think the reason it kept blowing out is from using a 1.1 backbox on a 16v engine. too much pressure i assume
