Could be a few things like a locked ecu,no fuel getting through or no spark. These are the most commonest things to check.

just had another look it fires when you spray the air filter and the fuel pump isnt priming and ive tried the switch it its still not priming,
so it looks like a new fuel pump? how do i change it?

If you dont know how to change it yourself i wouldnt mess with it , get it too a local garage they shouldnt charge you too much if you get a new pump they'll just charge to labour.

Sounds like you need a haynes manual if you've bought a car as a project without any mechanical know how.

i was just looking at fuel pump posts and it says they are easy i just wanted to know how you remove them as i havent looked properly at it yet
and has the part number on the top got to be the same?

    thanks

did you check for power to the fuel pump? Immobiliser or immobiliser/fuel pump relay may be playing up, id check power first using a multimeter

its been a while since ive had a saxo,so wheres the ecu,ive found some relays above the fuse box thats all i can find, the fuses under the bonnet are all intact the cut off switch isnt the problem and it definetly isnt anything else as it fires if you spray the air filter,

I can hear something click sound like its coming from under the bonnet when i switch the ignition on but no fuel pump priming,

It's the big silver box that looks like an ECU.

You can hear your relay clicking

so does anyone know how the fuel pump comes out? ive seen a lot of people saying its easy and ive took the covers off under the back seat just dont want to break anything?

Firstly, buy a haynes manual. it has this information in there and is so useful.

Secondly, ill look in my haynes manual in a few minutes and give you the info, just busy at the mo

Mate just look lol. You've pulled the cover off, so what do you see?

Is it held in with bolts, a strap etc? Is there fuel in the pipes connected to it?

If so, clamp the pipes and remove the bolts. It's common sense, not mechanical knowledge.

take off the grommit, remove the battery (just incase) remove the 2 pipes held in with a stupid clip. unscrew the plastic ring, out it pops. resverse order to replace
