is it safe to use high octane fuels in a standard 1.1 saxo, like shell optimax? the handbook says up to rating 98, but the high octane fuels have up to ron 99?
cheers

I use tesco's 'super unleaded'.. only because it's 40p extra for 10litres than regular fuel, and the car get's more mpg.

Power wise there's no point but if you get more mpg then there no argument against it.

i accidently filled my car with texaco super unleaded (or what ever their v power equivalant is called)
and tbf the extra cost of the 'better' fuel didn't out weigh the mpg. i actually got better mpg but couldn't go as far cause it cost more (only put a tenner in)
