Can a drum beam be converted to discs?

    I was just wondering because my vtr has a tiny amount of play in the rear trailing arm like 1mm or something.. think it will probably last a while until it gives in completely but I have a drum beam off a 1.1 spare thats good and wondered if it can be converted to discs? would just save me some cash if so..
