scrap value?

my saxo is due its mot next month and i was willing to get the things done that i think need doing. brake discs and pads, new shock new tyre, possible welding and front steering issues but a mate in work said my car smelt funny as i pulled up. checked my oil and its full of the creamy white stuff, my rad also has it. i do a fair bit of milage in the car as im using it as a work horse at the mo. so was thinking on a v reg saxo is it really worth doing? how much is a saxo scrap value, does anyone know? its got ax gt alloys on.

Scrap value is around 150 depending on your area. It deffinatly looks like head gasket issues, but at the end of the day it's entirely up to you, wether you want to spend the money and getting it right.

i gotta be honest mate its done a good job the last 6 months iv had it. but i think its had its day. there are so many small issues with the car that need sorting. its been fun to drive tho. lol. if i gotta spend 50 quid on a mot then 30-40 on a tyre and possibly welding and defo front end issues, i gotta whine on 3rd gear as well and a leaky car when it rains lol, i may as well get myself another banger for 400 quid with a years mot.

Does sound like its had better days lol but if your gonna fork out 400 quid for another banger then what's saying this banger won't have issues. For 400 quid I'm sure you can make the Saxo pass the mot and do the head gasket, making it a good run around. Anyways it's up to you at the end of the day lol

I'd spend that 400 fixing issuses with the saxo, atleast you know its fit for the roads for months to come. Buying a banger 400 might leave you with problems to sort out on that.

From the list of things wrong there sounds like alot more than £400 worth of work lol.

Sounds like you're better off buying a new banger with a 12 month ticket mate.

If you sell it for scrap value, prob get atleast £100, put that towards your funds towards another banger.

Can pick up some decent cars for £500 these days.

Personally i`d strip the car & sell the decent parts, then scrap what`s leftover mate.
