Power steering pipe + lowered car = FAIL

  1. #1
    Major help needed.

cars lowered on gaz coilies and they are wound all the way down.
I do not wish to raise the suspension at all, but the track rod arm had worn a hole in the power steering pipe.

is there a fix for this without having to raise the car?

I thought about bolting the track rod end on upside down to lower the angle of the arm, but I'm not sure if this is safe or not?

    any help much appreciated

    you can "bend" the pipe.
or use a different MK 1 rubber pipe iirc.

i chose the bend it out the way option.

yes you can bend the metal pipe so it does not foul the steering arm, but do not bend it too much or you risk fracturing the pipe or splitting it. Also you cannot bolt the track rod end on upside down, this could cause all sorts of issues

power steering pipes from a mk1, easier to get clearance with £32 the pair posted

mine did the same even with bending it out of the way

as said get the mk1 pipe it clears it by a mile youll only need the high pressure one

It's only the drivers side one that's making contact. But I do have plans to drop it another inch or so. Will this still be ok?

Your track rod ends are the wrong end maybe...:s I had this problem changed sides and TADA plenty of room although I'm using the mk1 pipe that split halfway
