what tyres

  1. #1
what tyres would you recomend for vts rim not realy got a budget so fire away.
  2. #2
Best tyres I've had were bridgestone. Even in wet conditions they are grippy.

    There's a site I used... www.mytyres.com

Most common tyre for vts wheels is 195/45/15, obviously the more you pay the better the tyre.

Under £50 a corner for a blinding tyre , i put in 50 profile as i think it gives a track look to ure car ;p

F1 were good and mentally grippy! shit in the wet and cold though.
    their replacements, shite.

I will bear that in mind. I have only had them for about 1000 miles or so (am away at uni and don't take the car with me) so can't really comment on wear yet.

www.camskill.com is a good site for cheap tyres! decent and reliable mate!

    Kuhmo KH31 / KU31 are great on a budget!

Michelin PE2 if you can stretch.

theyre two i've used and not had a problem with, the michelins are better, but are double the price so you'd expect them to be
  17. #17
Those Kuhmo are only £35ish each, bargain if they're as good as stated
  18. #18
195/50 profile you can get Toyo T1R's for like 35quid a corner now.

Some people don't rate them, but with the weather starting to ease off for dryer days..You can't go wrong on a budget. Rainsport 2's are also good I've found in my opinion for road holding abilities, bit hit and miss for feel though.
  19. #19
Rainsport 2's I would put on par with Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's, but the rainsports last longer and are cheaper!

Yoko Parada Spec 2s in 195 50 15 are probably the worst value for money, hardly last, shit in the wet, and the sidewalls are too flexy, good in the dry but get up to temperature far too quickly and overheat even with hard road use! ha

T1Rs are ok, they're average, don't excel in any condition.

Avon Z3V are ok, slightly better than the T1Rs imo.

Continental PremiumContact 2 I have found to wear out too quick with not so hard use, I would expect more for the price.

Toyo CF1s, are good in all conditions, give good feel, good price and wear well.

Yoko S Drives are awful. They wear ok... Awfull feeling, shit in the wet, unpredictable, like driving on solid blocks of wood.

Khumo's were ok, didnt wear all that well, wernt an awful tyre though.

For me it would be between the Rainsport 2's and Toyo CF1's

the kuhmo's are good. grippy, good wear rate, not noisy, comfortable etc.

from experience better than T1R's / T1S', and offer similar performance to the michelin.

the area of those two where the michelin stands out is wear rate, whilst the kuhmo's arent bad my michelin rears had done 64k before needing replacement!
  21. #21
I am needing new tyres, i am going for the Rainsport 2's. They are a good tyre in the dry and better in the wet

i have kuhmo's on my vtr alloys atm, and i dont rate them that great at all. cheap tyre and didnt wear too great at all. didnt find they gripped that well either on standard set up.

been looking at theese anyone used them what do you think.
  24. #24
as above, Kuhmos or michelins. Both best value for money, good grip. The michelins last much longer so worth the investment if you know how to avoid potholes.

The Maxxis MAZ1 aren't bad on a budget actually. My mate got some on an Astra he bought (1.9 CDTi) and I laughed at first, but after he let me have a go they handled the torque pretty well. They're quite soft though.

I had some of them before wasn't overly impressed with tbh they could do with abit more grip.
