16" Wheel Tyre Options

Right, so where ever I see people with 16" alloys it's you must have 195/40 profile tyres. How much rubbing are we talking with 195/45's? Everyone says that 195/50's rub on 15's, but I personally know they don't (and I was pretty low).

I just can't believe the price difference in tyres! You're looking at an extra £20 a corner for 195/40's...

I'm not fussed about modding the arches a little.

Depends on the width and offset wether you get rubbing

I got a bit on my 7j ozs years back with 40s on (comparable to 195/50/15 on 6.5js) so a 45/16 would be pretty bad id of thought

I had 195/45/16s on mine lowered 60mm. Had to trim brackets on rear bumper and archliners, but no major work required. Other vts had 40 profiles on lowered 40mm with no work needed

Ford Wheels generally need 20mm Spacers.

I have 7.5j OZ's, They require 195/40 profile tyres to avoid rubbing overall.

I have TD 1.2's with 195/45 profile tyres, and they rubbed driving in a straight line, front and rear.
