I have a W reg Saxo Forte and suspect I have a drive shaft problem.
I noticed a rhythmic tapping noise at around 40mph when going up a hill, but the noise disappears when I take my foot of the accelerator.
I thought at first it might be a wheel bearing but am now thinking its a drive shaft.
I also have noticed that when reversing off my drive on full left lock there is a shuddering noise coming from the front wheel.
One more maybe not related symptom is now a slight wheel wobble at very low speeds and gears
If its a drive shaft do they eventually just become disconnected at I grind to a halt. I have to travel on motorways for about 20 miles each way to get to work so I am really not sure whether to risk driving the car or just leave it until I can get it into a garage.
The car is actually only worth £700 but its my pride and joy.
Thanks for any help that can be given.
