Help! Angel Eyes not working :(

  1. #1
Just fitted a set of brand new Ultra Angels to my sax.

Have followed the guide to the T and use proper spade connectors the wiring is all proper tidy.

I wired in the halo rings on the driver side first then tested them and they worked fine.

Turned the lights off, disconnected the battery again and spade/crimped the other side exactly the same and just as tidy, but now I have wired the passenger side neither side rings will work whatsoever?

Even if I disconnect the passenger side, drivers side rings wont light up now.

Have checked the fuse inside the car #12, 5 amp, and the headlight fuses under the bonnet (10 amp) and no problems there.

Can't for the life of me work out whats going on, just about to go outside and cut my connectors off and try again a 2nd time.

Main and dipped beam still work fine, havent tried indicators yet.

Hopefully when I get back some of you will have replied to enlighten me

Also am I right in thinking that as they are LEDs they shouldn't pop or blow without a huge current?

LED are dependant upon current direction - in that they only work with + and - the right way round - sounds like you've swapped them over when you crimped them. Pull off the connections and connect the other way round (same for each side) and it should work

Ive got them connected to red to red and black to green on both sides.

This is how it should be wired am I right in thinking?

Thats what i done and mine work fine. Your not far from me if you want a second opinion. Only fitted mine wednesday. Not properly crimped mine as theyl be coming out when i can afford a vtr

done mine crimped but the wires came loose in the crips and they wouldnt work. just check your crimps are right fella, may have come loose inside them

OK gonna go try twisting some of the wires together i think

Don't assume that red is always the +ve, it won't do any harm to swap them over then at least you'll know if that's the cause or not

Are you sure that power is getting to the connectors - check with a 12v bulbed screwdriver to be sure?

Was an absolute epic n00b fail I'm sorry everybody!

When checking fuses never just go by visual inspection, always try running a bulb or something similar through the fuse.

Whacked in a fresh 5 amp and theyre working beautifully, with proper neat wiring that can't even be seen when the bonnet is open
