things to change whilst the head is off (turbo build)

    hi there.
    I have recently taken my head off my engine and sent it away with my throttle bodie for a stage 2 p&P spec with enlarged valves, uprated lifters and springs by this company via ebay

    i am building a turbo spec car. i recieved a 1.5mm decomp plate i am fitting with a double HG. i recently fitted a low milage bottom end also (56k)

    i was wondering whilst everything is off what else can i do thats in weasy reach. My car is not a saxo but a 1. 8v MPI4 seat ibiza

    so far i have
    cleaned piston tops
    brought new cambelt kit ready for refitment
    injectors all ready to put into place
    awaiting arrival of cupra FPR
    i have everything ready to fully service the car ie oil filter, castrol 10w40 oil and fuel filter

    i cant think off anything else to do to prep my car for the rebuild. the mapping will be done in a few months once the exhaust is built and i have saved some monies

    my spec for the car (when finished) is

    cupra (330cc) injectors
    3.0 Bar FPR
    P&P throttle bodie
    Uoprated head (as described above)
    standard camshaft (no uprated models made for my car)
    standard new belts
    1.5mm decomp plate and twin HG
    custom turbo manifold and 2.5" downpipe
    t2 turbo
    megane intercooler
    2.25" pipes
    unbranded oil sandwhich plate
    oil cooler
    custom turbo lines
    forge BOV
    cupra uprated apexi air filter
    true 3" exhaust
    rev limiter raised to 7k
    standard cupra front brakes with standard size grooved disks and standard rear drums
    unbranded electronic boost controller
    unbranded turbo timer
    psi boost and oil temp guage in pod


    expecting on low boost (4psi) about 100hp) and on high about 180whp (14psi)
    people will say why turbo a 1,4 8v
    1- i am fitting a twin actuator boost high of 1 bar and low off 4psi. this will help save fuel on long journeys and boost and power is there when i need it
    2- i have a very solid and good bottom end.
    3- i cant be bothered to find a 1.8 20v t engine when i only want to run around 180whp max. a cupra engine will give me that but will constantly drink fuel on my long journeys and will be more expensive then this build as i aquired alot off the parts at cheap prices including the turbo, intercooler etc
    4- i cant get insured on a cupra engine and i can on this build with every nut and bolt declared

    obv a good company then as the listing has been taken down and pleas say you didnt get the decomp off ebay?

    why are you using 2 headgaskets and a decomp plate ??

    i thought you had to use a hg each side of a decomp so it didnt leak? i got the decomp plate customly cut at a steel cutters and thanks im completly forgot about waterpump

    no you uses paste on one side of the decomp to seal it to either the head or block (depends on what you do)
    you might be better with a higher fpr as 3bars not very high (I'm running 4bar on my vtr as do a lot of people on here iirc)
    Other thing is i don't think you'll get 180 out of a t2

    i chose a t2 just because its small. so less turbo lagg. thats also why i chose a small size cooler and smaller boost pipes so if i get around 180 ill be chuffed
