Alarm won't stop going off!!!

  1. #1
Every time I open the door it goes off, wait for it silence, put the key in the ignition and it goes off, wait for it to silence, turn the ignition on and it goes off!!!!

I disconnected the battery yesterday to fit my manifold, and shorted out the alternator a couple of time before I did disconnect it.

Can disconnecting the battery make my alarm go bonkers? Was only off for about 3 hours.
Or might I have blown a fuse/relay that make the alarm go nuts.

    It's doing my head in!

Can you not simply disconnect the alarm itself ie pull the plug out from the alarm? Then leave it for a will & reconnect it.

If knew where the plug was I could, any clues? I was contemplating ripping it out yesterday!!

I just don't understand why it would suddenly start doing it, I must have melted a relay or something.

Got a fob, but I can lock/unlock the car to my hearts content and it doesn't stop it going off. Where is the box for the alarm to unplug it?

    Cheers for the responses guys.

I have known people get hasty and rip the alarm "brain" out before and then it completely immobilizes the engine.

Which is a saftey feature which comes with my car, as if anyone robbed it and found the alarm brain... ripped it out could just drive off with the car.

How ever if you can drive it with the alarm going off, just disconnect the the siren from the box

I can drive my car with the siren blaring out no problem.

If I pull the "brain" out and it immobilisers my car, I can just reconnect it and everything will be hunky dory though right?

I'll have a play this aft.

Guessing it is a standard saxo alarm?

In which case follow the others advice, i was referring to after market alarms.

My mate had a clifford G5, he had problems with it a while ago so unplugged the box and car would not start it was immobilized, when he plugged box back in... it still was,

Had to call an alarm specialist to sort it, if i recall correctly there is a code of some sort or something you put it before/after removal lol

    Yeah it's standard Saxo. Cheers

Mine did this you need to turn the key and press the button on dash to get it to go off simply pressing the button alone does nothing

+1 on that. Rip one wire out and good luck nicking the car. Well played sir. Also good luck disconnecting the siren from the box when it's protected by a master alarm key with sensors around

Just had this problem with mine. In short, if you have a button on the dash for your alarm, hold it in then turn the car on while holding it in and it should stop it.
