Noise from wheel...

Hi all, sorry if this has already been asked but I couldnt find it...

Last night my car started making some strange noises from what sounded like the front left wheel... It was squeaking like a dry belt, but then as I drove further, It turned into a droning noise as if the calipers are caught on the disk or something like that... I wonder if it could be the wheel bearing???

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

the actual wheel bearing is around £25. i couldn't tell you what a garage would take to change one as i just get my mate to do jobs like that. if you got the bearing and took the strut off yourself they probably wouldn't take very much to swap them over

Could also be just a dry cv joint. Take the wheel off and check the rubber boot on the driveshaft, make sure it's sealed properly and there isn't grease every where.

Worth checking before you get charged a bundle by a garage.

Right... Looked at the wheel when it was on full lock.. And it's looks like the cv boot joint has come off lol... Spoke to my mate and he said I will need a new drive shaft! Good times that I found the problem! Haha
