I always fit valeo and thats whats fitted as standard. Not sure on price difference but you can pick valeo ones up for £70-£90 so its not breaking the bank for a quaility part!

i put a luk one in my 106 before and it didnt have the same boie as the valeo atall, when doggin it through the gears it didnt have as solid a bite on each change if ya get me and when i was doin the box about 2 months later the release bearing had wore half way into the pressure plate so i changed it to a valeo and it was way better, always a solid bite through the gears, also put valeo in my gti6 and never had a problem either!

Used both and never had a problem, but given the small price difference, I always choose Valeo now.

Valeo is better, I know some guys in the Netherlands use a 180mm valeo on a 16v in their rally cars.
I drive normal road and managed to destroy a 180mm Luk (metal into pieces, springs everywhere) after 200km..
They say it should not happen with the valeo, but i wanted to be shure so changed to a 200mm clutch (lost some engine speed ).
