What does a shot wheel bearing sound like would it make a clicky grinding noise going straight and cornering. I thout it was my cv joint butunsure now. How do u check your bearing? Also would warped disc's make this noise as mine are warped. Any help will be great

A bad wheel bearing can make a grinding noise but a cv joint can too if its dried out. To check for a bad wheel bearing jack up the car and grab the wheel at 12 and 6 and try to wobble it about, if it moves at all you have a bad bearing

I thought my wheel bearing was gone in my front left wheel but looked behind the wheel tonight and I need a new drive shaft! The rubber boot covering the CV joing (i think) had come off and all the oil had come out! According to my mechanic you cant just replace the rubber boot bit, I need to replace the whole thing ;/

bollocks! I just repacked mine with grease when the metal retainer snapped, and tied it up with a jubilee clip. No water/dirt had got in so it was fine! At least for a few months until now

you can fit a new cv boot and pack with grease but it depends how long you've been running it as the joint may be knackered if its been dry for a while

Its been like it for a while but only just had time to get it checked out, i would rather replace it than wait for it to happen again possibly in the future!
