Gaz coil overs

In the process of fitting them and just wounded if any one has come across this problem?

I've built it fully up and the springs are loose ( if that makes sense) can move it up and down, hoping with weight on the damper will compress enuff

    Cheers

Mine did the same mate, but on solid mounts...

Just compress them as much as you can before refitting to the car, they'll compress with the weight.

they do if you don't have the helper springs fitted mate, when you putting it back on the ground do it slowly /carefully and they should be fine

Mine did that, they should be fine with the weight of the car on them. Helper springs really arent necessary. You'll find in about a week or 2 of driving you wont be able to move the spring when you jack it up.

I've just bought some helpers springs for mine to resolve this

Cheers, it's fine now on ground.

Next problem is, I have it on the - setting at the moment as that is how it came

Anyone know what is a good setting to adjust them to as it's fucking wired to drive with them like that

what you mean? the rebound setting? Fairly firm to suit as the standard gaz springs are 300lbs (nearly 3 times firmer than standards) so wind it all the way then say 2 full rotations back and fine tune from there

    way i did it:
counted the amount of turns from - to +
and set it exactly in the middle.
Then take it for a drive, see what you think and go from there. too stiff or to soft etc..

The gaz valving will account for the springs being firmer, so the total range should be suited to the poundage. being softer should make the car more compliant, not weird. going stiffer should make it feel better as such. just experiment from the middle and between front and rear. and remember to do all damper settings from max in. so wind the dials all the way in, then out the number you require.
