Fitting a clutch, few pointers

    Am I doing this right?

1- take battery off and battery tray, all air intake
2- wheels off, bottom arms and drive shafts out
3- move power steering pipes and all cables out way
4- unbolt gearbox leave one bolt in
5- jack under the engine and one for the box to take the weight
6- undo gearbox mount, take out the remaining bolt
7- fit clutch, line it up
    8- re-assemble

Is that right gonna have a bash at mine tomoz
    Cheers

Sounds about right. Don't forget starter motor and linkages though

Sounds spot on, I think theres a detailed guide on here to do it, certainly a tricky job tho. Best of luck with fitting it.

No need to take the bottom arms off, just the ball joint so the hub is free in order for the driveshaft to pull out. Might be best to unbolt the interemediate bearing housing on drivers side driveshaft as well to make life easier. Major issue is making sure the clutch release bearing is not knocked off the retaining clips when putting the box back on. Best to tie the clutch release arm back with a bunjee or similar in order to minimise the risk. Be careful not to damage the driveshaft oil seals.
Good idea to grease up the release arm pivot bushes too while your there too. Use a clutch alignment tool or a home made device to make sure the clutch plate is central otherwise the box will never go back on. Oh and one last thing - you might need to have the engine slanted a wee bit down and forward to get the box out and in again. Its a tight fit where the bottom arm bolts to the chassis.

All the best with it mate

if the box wont go on right away have a brew and a breather then try again. Always works - don't know why!

watch out for the gear oil when you pull out a shaft or you will be rolling about in it.
