#2Normally yes, what saxo you got?
-
#3its a 1.1i desire mate
-
#4everything has been changed new belt wheels ect but wont start when trying to start it u can hear a poping sound as if its fireing exsaust gets hot and smoke from exaust thats y i think valves are shot
-
#5Check your timing mate.
-
#6you will be able to tell if it bent the valves.
it will spin over really fast due to no compression.
or will lock up as the piston hits the valve head.
backfiring is normally the timing out. -
#7Did you take the head off when you replaced the belt to check for damage caused by the failure?
-
#8Manually time it up then crank it over by hand a few times and if all good it should be safe to turn over via the stater........
-
#9bent valves, popping is exhaust gases trying to get out of bent inlet valves
-
#10Head... hehe
