Diagnostic socket

    Hi,
Saxo 1.4i on an S plate. I recently bought an OBDII sender for my other car which plugs into the diagnostic socket just under the steering wheel. However I can't find the socket on my Saxo and wondering if in fact it has one.

I wanted it because I did a stupid thing and tried to start the car with a battery charger still connected to the battery terminals and it looks like i've blown something.

The car always started first turn of the key but after this it takes ages to start, when it finally does the revs jump to around 3000, drop down when I prod the throttle pedal but then go up and down as if I was sitting there revving it.

    Glove box.

also may well be a 30 pin plug rather then OBD2

It's not actually in the glovebox... it's Underneith. There is a removable cover where the fuses are.. it's in there next to the fuses

It's not in the glove box.

It's at the bottom of the fuse rack. The fuse box is just under the glove box, you'll see a removable cover on the bottom left of the dash. The OBD2 port might be at the bottom, I say might as I'm not sure if the very early Saxo's (with the keypad immobiliser) have a port.

Found it !!! It was in the fuse box under the glovebox as you said.

    Thanks for your help.

I always find the dignostic compatibility confusing.
I have a 1999 T Sx and have a 16 pin connection-is my car OBD/II compliant and will any OBD/II diagnostic reader work on it?

I've read conflicting posts some stating that only specialist data reader and software(Lexia or something?)

Although I found the socket I'm not getting any readings from it. The lights on the adapter are flashing and the software says it is reading, but no results are showing.

For some reason the starting problem has solved itself and it started first turn of the key even though it hasn't run since last summer. AllI need to do now is bleed the brakes, 2 new tyres on the rear and away she goes....I hope
