Drivers Side CV Joint

   Hi,
   
   I heard a strange noise yesterday from the front drivers side of my car, like a grinding noise but would go away when put power on the acc but come back.
   
   I jacked my car up and noticed that the metal teeth are exposed on my CV Joint? I don't know if them teeth should in he wheels them selfs? Are covered in a boot?

   thats the abs ring m8 its ment to be like that it looks worn tho

   Should that not have a plastic cover on it? Need a new driveshaft to stop the grinding noise?
   
   It is okay to drive until I get in sorted in the next few days? :/

   it wont havea cover on it
   i drove mine for 2/3weekwith that nockin noise and then just got both brand new for 100 from j and r if you google j&r
   
   you get 2yrs warranty on them and they are cheapest i have found

    Thanks mate will have a look. It's grinding sometime just started yesterday. On the inside of the wheel there is little flakes of metal?

    jack it up and spin the wheel to see were it is rubbing if anywere
    
    you my just have the take the shaft out of the hub and take the abs ring off
