When my klutch is down there is a pretty loud rattling noise coming from the engine bay. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Maybe my klutch is going? Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys!

#2most likely the clutch release bearing but have heard it should go away when the clutch is down so i may be wrong.. -

#3Nope, if its noisey with the clutch down then its the relase bearing (i.e clutch pedal down means release bearing is pressing on the clutch cover springs putting the bearing under load making it noisey) if its noisey with the clutch pedal up then the noise will most likely be the gearbox input shaft (bearings) -

#4Ok thanks guys. it makes the noise when the klutch pedal is pressed down only so it must be the klutch bearing. any idea how much this costs to replace at a garage? ill do it myself if its easy? thanks again
