Changing Power Steering Fluid

   As my steering sometimes goes stiff, mostly after i've been driving around for about 30 mins or sometimes it'll be stiff as i start to turn then get light again.
   Would a power steering fluid change solve this and how hard is it to do?
   Oh and how would i do it?

   battery / alternator fault.
   or
   Pump fault.

   so not a problem with fluid then? i think it's probably the pump then as it always starts/runs fine.

   My saxo started doing this 2wks ago so I smacked the power pump with a hammer,it worked for a while.Then I lost pas,knowing my battery & alternator are okay I changed the pumped & everythings ok now.

   Was it easy to change? I have virtually no mechanical knowledge.

   Not too bad,just a few bolts then disconnect the hoses/wiring.

   sounds easy enough then. I need a haynes manual anyway so i shall have to get one and have a go. Thanks
