if your on about what i think for the 80 quid one, that would be the open air filter, louder than normal and loves the hot air so you lose performance
piperX is enclosed and only has cool air from air feed
dont know about hoses, etc,k & n supply them with both, pipercross only do with the enclosed kit
if you cant afford the enclosed for now get a panel filter unless your only interested in noise as there will be better performance than with an open air filter as you use the standard cold air feed for a panel filter

TBH its more about sound than performance, i aint gonna lie.
I can teven drive, so performanc eis niether here nor there. lol
But it hink it mite be worth forking out in the long run.

if you did wanna go for performance eventually like i say buy a panel filter for now if you havent got the money and start saving.BMC sell panel filter and theyre dead cheap, there enclosed kits are awesome so if there anything to go by id buy one of them and will do when money comes along

dont really see the point of spending over £100 on an air filter than gives crap performance
yes there better than open filters but there stupidly expensive and not worth the money
if u want noise go for k&n etc..
if u want some performance go for a BMC CDA

I'd recommend an enclosed green cotton air filter, cheaper than BMC and pipercross, and there designed by citroen motorsport, cant go wrong imo.

naaaa... I dont understand this at all.
You're willing to sacrifice some of your engine power so you can piss people off when you drive passed them? seems strange to me but hey ho.
if you want sound you want sound
Buy an open filter K&N 57i and stick it right at the back of the engine bay.

only filter i would get is a green cotton enclosed filter mate, i have one on my vtr and its great. it sits just behind the grill and is still loud and you can feel a difference with it. well worth the money too.
