ecu, loom WRONG = coversion FAIL

    What ecus are different?

For my vtr conversion I bought a single plug ecu and engine loom as the plug fit my interior loom. The ecu was a bosh and much smaller than my original (which is magneti like most saxo ecus iv seen)also the connection from the loom to ecu was longer. Yesterday we completed engine conversion and on the turn of the key the engine cranked but there was no fuel getting threw, the fuel pumps wasn't priming.
So we tried my old loom and ecu which was a 1.4 furio. Took 2mins to change it all over and the car started, however as its was for a different engine type there was a serious timing misfire and it sounded like a v8.
The plan we have now that should get the car going is to get a full loom (engine an interior)and ecu from the same car an this should get it going.

    Enough of me rambling on....

My question is..... How many different ecus are the for a vtr? So far I'm thinking 2 types of single plug and as for 3 plug type I don't know.

this is the vtr bosh ecu i was sent, the plug on it is a lot longer than other single plug magnetti ecus iv seen.

this is the plug length difference between the bosh and magnetti

this is the magnetti that was like my 1.4 one but also iv only ever seen this type in other saxos inc vtrs and in a pug 106 gti

this is the 3 plug type that i only know of.

is there any more 3 type plugs or are all the 3 plug ecus the same?

right so i know theres different looms from engine to interior for single plug looms and pins all mixxed up in them.

but for 3 plug ecu is it the same ball ache?
like say i got a 3 plug ecu and engine loom from one person but got interior loom off someone else. whats the guarantee of the wiring looms pins matching up so theres no having to change pins on the loom connection?
