Key light flashing

  1. #1
    Hi,

I recently bought a 2003 saxo furio. I brought it cheap as the engine wiring loom had shorted out. I have just changed the wiring loom and the fuses (It had blown a few) It now turns over but will not ignite and the orange key light is flashing on the dash. What could this be? Could it be that the ECU has fried when the engine loom shorted out?

Thanks in advance for any advice

The battery is off at the moment and has been off for must of the day but it doesn't seem to be making any difference. :'(

also try using your spare key if you have one... as the chip in the key might be faulty or have a weak connection

check the ecu relay aswell under the ecu tray; sometimes it can go dodgy after a while, and as it controls both the immobiliser and the fuel pump it can cause no firing and the immobiliser light flashing

That's been changed already mate Got the light to stop flashing now but the engine still wont fire. Going to try an unlocked ECU tomorrow and crank sensor. Will update again if i do not have any joy
