gearbox humming

hi guys iv noticed that my gearbox is humming right wen i drive down the road 1,2,gears no noise 3,4,5,i get a humming noise i put clutch in and it gose any help plz

My gearbox started doing this last month, then it turned into a whine, which got louder and then it kept bouncing out of gear and was undrivable eventually, this all happened in the space of a week. Luckily im a mechanic so i fitted a second hand gearbox last week, also check your gearbox level aswell mate

could be thrust bearing on clutch too

im not sure the noise only starts wen in 3,4,5 but wen i put clutch its stops

Hey, I had the exact noise.... mine was also leaking gearbox oil ... so defo check your levels..... but mine also needed a recon gearbox put in.

ye theres not oil in the box wot is a good oil to use on the vts box

id say any make would be the same aslong as its the same grade, its up to youself how much you want to spend on the quality/make of the oil

just to note if you dont know, it takes 2 litres
