Door card material

  1. #1
Last time i was on track it was a warm day and i got asked to wear a jumper because i had no door cards, he didnt want me to get a cut or anything.

so what is the best material for a doorcard, obv has to be lightweight. Dont fancy paying £££ for carbon fibre, after something cheap as chips!

I went with S1 rallye cards. With my old cage and seats I could no where near have standard door cards due to the room they take up.

Deffo going with a bit of polycarb this time round!

suppose the lightest thing you can buy cheaply would be fibreglass roofing sheet --stuff they use for flat roofs --very thin and usualy grey in colour --not very high gloss ,but very light
suppose it all depends on what your looking for --ulitmate weight saving or looks
one sheet would do all doors ,tailgate and rear 1/4 panels .

pretty much same stuff we use, they make baths, caravans etc, am sure he said its what the make caravan roofs with, can obvs die it any colour though.

they also make fiberglass kit car shells
