185/55 R14 tyres with grip

    Just bought some VTR alloys with various 185/55/R14 tyres on. Tread is ok on them but need something less performance biased.

    Will be off road trialling the Saxo so need tyres with grip for grass & mud. I know, pretty random.

    Something similar to winter tyres would be ideal but we're not allowed winter tyres, thats cheating.
    Anything considered, budget, re treads, the cheaper the better as all driving is off road.

    Do camskill.com not have an off road tyre selection mate?

    Not had a look, and know nothing about the type of tyres, so can't be of use other than that.

    not aloud rally tyres then im guessing?

    Afraid not, cant use rally tyres, off road tyres or winter tyres. Have to be standard road tyres but want to find some with tread like you'd get on a 1.1 rather than the high performance style road tyres.

    I have uniroyal rain experts on mine. They are great in the dry, amazing in the wet, worked pretty well in the snow too. Never tried them on grass but I'd of thought they'd do alright? Might be worth a look? Mine were £200 for 4.

    Vredestein Quatrac 3's are technically an "all season" tyre, but they're expensive. Or Hancook do an RA14 that's sort of "grippy" that my dad used to have.

    Or, thinking about it, you could mount some cheap radials the wrong way around, so the grooves would point the wrong way and grip into the mud... At least that works in my head!

    ive currently got a set of these hancook ones your on about and to be honest for the price you cant go wrong they get me around various grassy areas and muddy lanes where i live but when i plan on going on long journeys or b road driving i get my other set of vtr wheels with continental sport contacts on as i dont trust the hancooks fully
