Lambda Sensor

  1. #1
I have been told i need to have a new green lambda sensor in my car.

My question is, are they hard to fit ?

Is there any guides that can help me ?

    Thanks in advance.

It's simply a sensor what bolts into the exhaust. Just need to unclip it from the loom.. unscrew.. and screw new one on.

Might be abit seized on so wd-40 will help..

I got told you have to heat before fitting or is that rubbish?

will be rubbish, because if anything it would expand when hot so wouldnt fit in the hole properly. If in doubt, fit it then run the car up to temp, that'll heat it and it'll expand into place if heat is actually needed (although im sure they're the right size to start with)

iirc its a 22mm spanner that is needed. a real simple thing to do. as i belive the green one is closest to the mani

Well mine was on and it's gone off now so yeah it would appear it turned it off.
Have you had it plugged in though #?

About the heating up just watching a programme called the garage, they needed to change a lambda sensor and was stuck so they heated it up and it came out.

You may need the fault codes cleared on your ecu after fitting the sensor.Otherwise even though you`ve repaired the fault the ecu still has the fault logged & may put the eml on again.

This never occured to me I assumed it would go off by itself, I fitted another one and my eml light is still on may try that then!

yep, that would do the job alright when trying to open it but theres no need when putting in the new one, its just to free up the one thats siezed
