Hi guys,
The missus has a 2000 Saxo 1.4 Furio and the fuel guage isn't working.
Originally had a problem with fuel pump and car wouldnt start so replaced
fuel pump and sender unit complete which fixed the fuel problem but then the
guage stopped working. We then got two replacement pumps complete with
sender unit and all three are doing the same. Car runs fin but no guage.
When you turn the ignition two clicks the needle bounces three times then
just sits at the botton of the guage below the red.
On top of the fuel pump there are four wires in the connector,
1) Thin pink wire
2) Thick Blue wire
3) Thick Yellow wire
4) Thin Green wire
Im guessing the thin wires are for the sender unit and the thick wires are for the pump itself?
A mate told me that if I put a wire link between the thick yellow wire and the thin green wire this would solve the problem so i tried this...
The result now being the needle will sit in the bottom of the red part of the guage for about five seconds then bounce 3 times and return to the bottom.
The tank has been filled to top with petrol and done 40 miles so should be sitting between 3/4 to full.
Any help would be much appreciated.
