engine always seems to be hot?

I know this is a common problem but can't seem to find an answer. Mine always seems hot when driving, there's water etc in there but u was sat in traffic today and had smoke/steam coming out the bonnet? Has happened once or twice. Any idea what to do?

mine seems to get really hot when sat at idle aswell? if i go through a drive-through or something the fan kicks in as it hits half way up the temp gauge its only a standard vtr aswell i just thought they all got hot?

is the fan working? where exactly is the steam coming from, is there a leak?

They are supposed to go up to just a tad under half way.

my standard saxo frequently reaches half way when stood and the fan kicks in, then the gauge sits about a third, its normal for the temp to get to around half way/just over half. As for the steam, check for any kind of leaks or head gasket on its way out? Just speculating to be honest

Havnt really pulled over and had a look where its coming from. I just notice it cone out of the grill at front. My temp gauge seems to stay about half way but if I'm sat around to long it goes go up. Fan kicks in between middle and top.

My old furio was a lot hot, around half way. But never this hot

Sure there is no oil leak my furio used to leak oil on the manifold making it smoke.
