Coolant Cream and Oil Cap Smells of Petrol

   Hi,
   
   A few months back I got my head gasket replaced. Now I'm just worrying that there is cream still appearing in the coolant resevoir and the oil cap smells of strong petrol.
   
   The sides of the resevoir are caked in gunk from when it went before as I can't open it up to clean it so I'm not sure whether it's just old stuff coming up and out from before. As for the smell of petrol my journeys are often short from cold which I've read could cause this?

   If you do sort journeys its very common in the saxo's that they get gunkey anyway, but did you have the system flushed when you has HG done?

   Yeah engine and radiator flush but if you look into the coolant resevoir you can see the sides are just layered in gunk. Is there a way to open it up and clean it out?
