Airbag light guide.

    Hi all

This is just a quick guide for people who have fitted an aftermarket steering wheel who find their airbag light stays on.

Firstly remove the steering column cowling, down the bottom of the column you`ll see an orange cable coming from the dash this plugs into the airbag squib.Unclip the plug, then take a 2 ohms resistor trim the legs down & push 1 leg into each side of the female plug then for secureness put a piece of insulation tape over the top.The result is the airbag light will come on then go off when the car is started.

Doing it this way negates the need to disconnect the battery & take off the airbag unit.

No pics but it should be self explanatory when you see the connections.

Hope this is of some help to people.

Well i`ve done this to mine & its got the standard steering wheel/airbag set-up.I know the airbag won`t fire but the chances of a saxo one firing are slim anyway.I tried everything to fix it & after spending out £500 on the saxo in the last few weeks I got pissed off & did the simple fix.

Or you can just cut the live wire to the air bag light and join a wire to the live from another light on the dash that comes on with the ignition and win win. It will then come on with the other light with the ignition then goes out simples.

True theres a few ways of doing it including put a 5 amp fuse into the airbag circuit that works as well.
