S2 GTi Clocks

Ive just plugged in some 106 s2 clocks in my VTR.

What do i need to do to get the temp gauge working?

Or will i need a gti/vts engine/ECU to use it?

    Cheers?!

Surely your vtr already has a temp needle?

Yeah, but its not working on these clocks. I thought maybe theres a wiring difference between the gti's and VTR's. Its same with the oil temp gauge but i know that needs to be wired in. They don't move.

This is a complete guess but maybe just maybe you need the temperature gauge sensor from the s2.So that it transmits the correct voltage to the gauge. That is of course if the sensor fits the vtr thermostat housing.

You could be right, ill swap the sensors over tonight and see what happens.

its the blue sensor that screws into the head that works the guage

Yes & i`m guessing the voltage is different on the s2 one, therefore thats why the gauge on the s2 clocks isn`t working.
