Was out last night when i heard a nasty crunch my auxillary drive belt bottom pulleys broke managed to get my mate to tow me to a garage theyre qouteing me £196 all in to fit a new pulley and a belt seems damn expensive to me any ideas??? Its a phase two vts joe

#2if your timing belt came off you might have bent your valves if you have it will be expensive unless you get a seconfd hand head mate

#3Aint timing belt mate its the aux belt( alternator belt)

#5i have a brand new gates aux belt and vts bottom pulley £20 posted takes 20 mins tops to fit only need a 13mm to change them i will also chuck the tensioner in aswell1 user thanked this post:

#6I'd get down the scrappy, I'm sure most TU alt tensioners are the same, I broke a xsara vtr and that had the same tensioner on it as my vts, just beware that the adjusters can seize up though, but a little effort can sort them out.

#9If it's the pulley bolted to the crank it's about £70 new from Citroen iirc, could even be more.

#12Fuck that £140 for a 20 min job. Royal Mail 1st class recorded and the parts would be with you by friday, fuck even pay for next day delivery and do it yourself.
