Will this alternator fit ?

   okey so am pretty sure the alternator on my car is dead. It gives off a burning smell and car stalls sometimes when i slow down. Also with a multimeter connected the battery alone reads 12.5 V with alternator on it goes to 13v or to 12.7 with cd player lights etc on the voltage is only at 12...
   when i understand it should be at about 14v
   
   anyways i bought an alternator on ebay the guy said it will fit my car but on this alternator there are only bare wire terminals and mine has one wire and then a plug. The both look identical besides that.
   
   can i make this one fit?

   yours is a mk2, the one you bought is from a mk1.
   
   will let more experienced members tell you how to fit it, as i have never done it.

   you will have to put connector rings on your current alt loom but i dont know which wire goes where but it is possible to make your new alt fit another member thats good with electronics will be able help for sure

   well there are 2 terminals on the new one and the old has 3 (2 in plug) one big wire
   am assuming the big wire is the positive side.
   
   the only confusing part is the other will prob have to take offplug and put a ring on it ...
   
   one pink one green ... green must be earth i think but i wonder what the pink wire is for
