I haaaaaaate imobilisers

Where can I start , ran my vtr fine for 1 year went to take it for an mot and noticed smoke coming from my carpet , switched it off took the battry out , riPped up the carpet to find melted wires I traced them as far as poss into dash and replaced them , but there is 2 wires that went nowere before I replaced them , put it all bk together everything works but my imobiliser key is flashing someone help me as I've put 2 years into makin this car a minter n need her running ..... Ps anybody selling 20mm spacers
