Would a car fail if the passenger door won't open from the outside but does from the inside?

#2Yes I believe it would.
-
#3DOORS
Both front doors must be capable of being opened from the inside and outside and all doors must latch securely.
Copied from MOT check thread. So yes it would fail, get it fixed lol -
#4Fuck, it's in for tomorrow! Looks like i'll be stripping the doorcard tonight.
-
#5I had this problem when I de-handled by Escort. Only had a popper on the driver's door and I had to have one fitted to the passenger side before he would pass it, even though I used to let passengers in from inside the car
-
#6u can just put a string dangling out the bottom of door dor an outside handle had to do this for ex;s car as poppers refused to work on day of mot and it passed as its still a means to open doors
-
#7Mines gone through 2 MOT with the passenger door not able to unlock from the outside but unlocks from the inside. Never said a word about it didn't fail. So must be all good
-
#8suppose it depends on the tester; If they even bother to check.
-
#9That's because locking has nothing to do with the test, it's the ability to open the door not lock it.
-
#10i am sure in another post someone said it was a grey area, put the window down and you can open the door from outside the car using the handle on the inside.
