Bought new rear beam - But will it even solve my knocking? (Pictures)

    Hi,

My mechanic said that these bits on my rear beam were causing the knocking noise at the rear passenger side of my 2000 VTS:

So I bought a refurbished Oilite beam from IM Axles:

But it doesn't include the bits (unsure what they are..?) in the first picture? So when I get the beam changed, won't I just be replacing the faulty parts back on to the new beam?

    I'm so confused!

    Any help appreciated

    Dan.

    You're right cheers John!

I think I must have not quite got what my mechanic was showing me where the play was..

Your mechanic was probably referring to play in the trailing arms causing the knocking. If so, fitting the new beam will solve your issue.

Yep, just got a bit worried that I'd spent near £400 for no reason!

Was going to say can't imagine the handbrake cables doing much knocking lol.. he must have meant the trailing arms

The picture you have posted up is the handbrake cables going into the caliper. 9 times out of 10 its the bearings shot in the axle or ARB loose.

Yep, I just got a bit confused!

I have slight camber, so it's more likely to be the Axle needing to be replaced tbh!

    Thanks for the advice chaps
