Tyres

So i need to get some new tyres for my VTS alloys. But have a question.

The VTS tyres are 195/45/15 and for Kumho Ecsta KH31 are £70 a corner fitted.

But for 195/50/15, same tyre fitted is £50 per wheel fitted.

What are the consequences of having a larger profile? Car is totally standard btw.

ps: this is on black circles. If anyone recommends a cheaper alternative site/tyre then go ahead

Speedo will be slightly out. If the car is standard height you would be very unlucky if they rubbed on the arches. It will probably handle slightly differently as well.

more body roll due to greater flex in the sidewall

Guess i'll have to stop being tight and just save for it. Thanks anyway.

pay the extra 20 for the kuhmos, not only are they good tyres, but 50 profiles rub if youre lowered with people in, and look like baloons.

oh, thats per corner, buy the tyres from somewhere on the internet and then get them fitted.

Edit: they seem to have gone up loads! for that price, they're a good tyre buy you may aswell get rainsports / michelin PE2's for that price

i got a pair of kumhos fitted for £120 a few weeks ago. they are so much better than my rainsport 2s before, made a huge difference to the cars handling

Over Xmas you could get Kumho's for about £50/60 per corner fitted. No idea why it's shot up since.

Edit: For delivery only it's £57.66 per tyre on BlackCircles, or £43 on CamSkill. Not heard of CamSkill though.
