Smoothing boot, relocating number plate.

    So want to smooth my boot but unsure on what to do with the number plate.

    Should I get a recess from a 106 and do it that way or should I just put the plate on the rear bumper somewhere?

    I think the 106 option would look better and tidier but its harder to do...

    Opinions?

    Opinions? Dont do it. Smooth boot looks rank and filling the holes followed by a respray will cost you.

    Your choice though at the end of the day

    smoothed boots are cool
    if it were me, id just make up some brackets to put it on the rear bumper in the middle somewhere.
    where these cars have them. And then light them up with led number plate bolts

    Paint and filling wouldn't cost me anything as my dad is a professional paint sprayer and I'll do most of the filling.

    might sound like a daft question but im assuming you have to add some kind of latch that opens boot from inside the car and is there a thread showing you how to do this ?

    Its a boot popper, basically a button in the car that kinda moves the mechanism thingy in the boot to open it. Buy them on ebay

    do it properly by welding a plate in there though. If you just use filler/fibreglass it will crack/sink

    check out username winnys build thread shows you how to do the 106 recess and makes a top job of it too.
    and yes there is a guide to doing a boot popper i made it and put it in the stickies section

    this is how mine used to look, broke it all for parts know still have rear bumper and boot if interested
