Hi everyone I'm just changing my wishbone and have noticed oil is coming out were the wheel part enters the engine??
Help oil coming out of wheel!!

#2LOL.. nicely worded.
From that, I gather you mean the drive-shaft is leaking oil..
Is it coming from near the gearbox? or near the wheel?
If it's near the wheel.. it wont be oil.. it will be grease from the CV.
Is that what's up? The cv joint (rubber thing on that wheel thing what enters engine) (
) will most likely be split.. Check it?

#3Ahh just read it again..
Your changing the wishbone.. so you obviously have the strut off.. So the driveshaft will be slightly loose in the gearbox? hence the oil?
Push it back in further to stop it..
Might have to top the gearbox oil up after your done tho. -
#4As above, youve pulled your driveshaft out! Push it back in quick!
-
#5+1 will be gearbox oil running out, remember to top it back up or if you want to drain and replace it takes 2 litres - 75w80 gearbox oil
-
#6you dont take the strut off to change a wishboneQuote:Ahh just read it again..

#10Done it now was the gearbox oil I just pushed the strut back in and when I was finishe I topped up te gearbox
-
#13So you don't have a strut in the way lol?
Every time i've done work on the car I just take the strut off, doesn't take long after the 10th time
The bolt's just undo themselves now.
-
#14by the time you have undone everything from the strut and taken it out, would be quicker just to have taken the wishbone off lol
-
#15okay okay
It's easier for me ^_^ -
#16you're the 1st person i know that takes the whole strut off :/
strange, very strange
