catalyst converter issue

    My car has a straight pipe from manifold to backbox ....... any ideas if quik fit etc can fit the cat on it by cutting / modifying etc etc

    just for my mots comming up ...............

    Im guessing you've changed the manifold so theres no cat in the mani yer.

    If so just get a complete early system with under car cat, you can pick them up cheap enough, then change the system from the mani back.

    Ive just bought the car so havent changed anything.... looked under car and its a straight pipe with no connections.

    Its has a 4 2 1 manifold

    i've got the same problem if its welded all the way through like mine the only way is to get a mickey mouse mot or take the whole thing off and replace with a standard one

    Bloody annoying like ..... its next month you need a cat for mot

    just gonna have to buy a new system

    put it in for its mot before the start of april, then you can at least save/search for a year to find a way to do it

    lol, have a look at the manifold, if its fat then thiers your Cat, later MK2's have the cat in the manifold

    Don't know why everyone is saying about it having a CAT in the manifold, i'm pretty sure he has a vts in which case they are all underfloor ones, so to the OP you need an underfloor cat and centrepipe upto the backbox

    He has a vts 2002 plate cat is under the car (well suppose to be)
