battery light

   Hi guys
   
   I have a vts fitted a new alternator started up fine checked it witha voltmeter off 12 volts on 14 volts no light. Drove it for 20 mins light comes on and stays on turnt the car off left it over night started it no light ran it for 20 mins again and light came back. Now this always happens.
   
   Any ideas what it could be ?
   
   I thought it may have a smaller battery than it should and now getting overcharged as my previos alternator was fucked ?

   seems to be a common problem:-), mine does almost the same, just with the old generator.
   
   the battery light is almost always on, but the generator reads 14,10v with idling engine, so it should be fine i guess.
   
   bought my car like this and have been driving for the last 3-4 months.
