answer ASAP PLEASE new full new. revs by self up to 6000rpm on startup

Just fitted a whole new loom phase 2. Upon start up struggles slightly hen once I starts the revs go up high. I have a 4-2-1 raceland that has the one lambda hole hole on it, could the problem be we plugged in the wrong lambda wire onto it?

When mine did this it was a dirty ICV.. Try cleaning inside the inlet where it sit's, then reset ECU by disconnecting battery overnight..

Fixed mine, so worth a shot
  3. #3
Did it rev all way up to 6k?
  4. #4
Well 5k yeah. When it finally died down, soon as I pressed the accelerator off it went again..

Simply cleaned the ICV / reset my ecu..

As it used to do it when the battery got low.. bumped it.. 5k tick over .. turned it on / off a few times and it sorted itself out.

Icv was black so cleaned that, also just noticed the hose from the brake servo we plug it in the front of the inlet manifold, is that menna go to the back? And the front one is for breather filter? Maybe that was causing the high revs? Going to wait until morning o test now tho

thats probably what it is, pretty sure the vac pipe from the servo goes to the back

To late to run a test now anyways, jus hope it is that. Left batt disconnected anyways for ecu to reset. I'll let yas know how it goes tomorrow
  8. #8
Defo going to work purrrrfectly ^_^.

vacum hoses can will cause it, also i have disconnected the ecu and its done this once jumped, just drive for 10mins and should be okay after that
  10. #10
    Still revving its nuts off
  11. #11
what do you mean about the lambda holes?

If you done something wrong with the lambda then that will likely be the problem as a lambda contributes to how the car idles.
  12. #12
At the mo we are just taking throttle body off checking for air leaks. As for the lambda I'm not sure wich one needs o be plugged into the manifold. What colour plug should it be?
  13. #13
as above servo gos the the back of inlet mani .

We have a 106 gti as a guinea pig for now. And we unplugged the throttle position sensor that revs to 2 n half k. Butter fly doesn't open. So back to the vtr, would a faulty one make it do this?
  15. #15
Managed to source another inlet manifold with sensors so on way to get that now. Hope this works
  16. #16
The one we sourced turned out to be for a 1.4 so yet again I'm freezin my nuts off waitin for a train home. I hope to god its the tps. Gettin peed off with this conversion now
