So stuck on engine conversion right now. Whole vts engine is in my 1.4 furio now, everything plugged in correctly all of the loom is in. Only thing that isnt on right now is the radiator and gear oil. The problem i have is that at the turn of the key i have no spark and no fuel priming from the pump, the car is trying to turn but goes no further. Ive tried a couple of ecus and had no immobiliser light on the dash. I seriously cant find an immobiliser box so we went ahead, i have a box under dash which is cobra for my simple alarm which im not sure would affect it. Ive been told i will probably need to get key, barrell, transponder ring does anyone think this would sort the problem? Thanks
No spark No fuel, engine conversion

#2When an ECU is locked the fuel pump will still prime and the coilpack and injectors will still get power but will not operate.
If you are getting no spark and the injectors are not injecting then it would suggest a locked ECU. Fuel pump maybe an earth. -
#3All earths are on I'm pretty sure of that its been triple checked.
Im thinking that the cobra alarm I have has an immobiliser and that's blocking it, any thoughts? -
#4I've tried unlocked ecu guys and still no luck. Immobiliser is deifinatley out also.
-
#5Someone please any ideas, I'm without a car.
-
#6Simple one but have you checked the crash switch is connected a reset?
-
#8Yeah thats the one, have you pressed the red button also?
So did you find your immobiliser box and disconnect it?
Do you have access to a multimeter? -
#10Might be worth checking which pins on the engine sensor relay (big one under the ecu) have 12v to them with the ignition on, so you can make sure thats ok.
Did you plug the big connector into the bottom of the fusebox ok? -
#11bit of a silly one but check all fuses, fuel regulator also. is the fuel pump defiantly a working one?
-
#12I was considering changing that relay box but your right I should multimeter them first. And with the fusebox connector I will double check that as it's a good point. Only other thought I had was tracing back from fuel cut off switch and following off every line checking them.

#14If you can work out how the relay works by using the diagram on the side, you can earth the switching side of the relay and see then if the pump runs.
If you check which pins have ignition feeds, which one goes to the crash switch, which one goes to the fuel pump and to the coil, we could work out where your problem most likely lays -
#15Relay under the ecu? I would personally say the ecu as i had this problem and tried ecus and the only ecu it would run on was the original furio one.
-
#16I very much doubt it's the ecu, I'm just trying to diagnose the problem rather that just fit components
-
#17I think that's what I will try tomorrow night beanimoo with the relay box idea.Quote:If you can work out how the relay works by using the diagram on the side, you can earth the switching side of the relay and see then if the pump runs.

tbh I don't think it's ecu related as I've tried 3 separate ecus. -
#18Wish people having these problems were closer, I'd happily pop over and help out
-
#20Check all the earths, that relay and crank sensor. Test the pump by pulling the its power feed plug off and wiring it to directly to a live and earth from the battery - if the engine starts when the pump is running then you know you are getting spark as well as fuel.
-
#21So far I've check crank sensor, fuel cut off, fuses and relay box. Any other ideas guys?
-
#22Fuel pump runs if run a direct live and earth. I need this sorted so bad
-
#23Have you checked the feeds to the fuel pump relay?
Check you have a feed on the wires that go into the bottom of the fusebox.
If you've done that test I told you about via pm correctly and the relay did not click and the fuel pump did not run, it doesn't sound like an immobiliser or ecu issue. -
#24I also have the same sort of issues on furio vts conversion, I have fuel pump priming and the car turning over but no spark?? The immobiliser box has been removed, the ecu has been unlocked and tested on another car when this issue was found, I'm unsure where to look next?
