creaky gear stick

   hiya guys got a 1.4 saxo sx recently the gear stick is starting to creak when i change gear? this dosent happen all the time but as u can imagine its starting to get annoying anyone know what tis could be

   if you mean inside the car then if you lift up the gaitor you can squirt a bit of lubricant down onto the ball i find that sorts it out for a while

   have you had the gearstick itself off? sometimes the ball can get worn/cracked in which case you would need a new one to get rid of the noise

   iv been told also it mite be the gear linkage as they tend to getvdry
